The Seattle Asian Art Museum is located in Volunteer Park in Seattle, WA. It is part of the Seattle Art Museum, and was originally built in 1933 as the Seattle Art Museum’s main building. The museum is housed in an Art Deco building, which was designed by Carl F. Gould and is on the National Register of Historic Places. The museum is dedicated to the collection, preservation, and interpretation of Asian art from across the world, including China, Japan, Korea, South and Southeast Asia, the Himalayas, and the Middle East.

The museum’s permanent collection includes paintings, sculptures, textiles, ceramics, and other works of art from the Asian continent. Additionally, the museum features special exhibitions, educational programs, and film series to further explore the diverse art and culture of Asia.

The museum also has a library that houses over 8,000 books, journals, and manuscripts related to Asian art and culture. Visitors can explore the library, take part in lectures and workshops, and visit the museum’s outdoor sculpture court.

The Seattle Asian Art Museum is free and open to the public, and also offers free admission on the first Thursday of each month. It is a great place to learn about and appreciate the art, culture, and history of Asia.
