The Bakersfield Museum of Art (BMoA) is located in downtown Bakersfield, California. Established in 1962, BMoA is the oldest museum in Kern County. The museum’s mission is to enrich the lives of its visitors through the visual arts.

BMoA features rotating exhibitions of local, national, and international works of art. The museum also offers educational programming and family-friendly activities. BMoA hosts lectures, workshops, artist talks, and other events throughout the year.

The BMoA facility includes an auditorium, a library, a museum store, and a café. The museum also offers a free mobile app that serves as a virtual tour guide.

The permanent collection at BMoA consists of more than 800 works of art, including paintings, sculptures, prints, and photographs. The museum also has a collection of contemporary art, and works from the traditional masters.
