The Fairlington Historical Society is a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving the history of the Fairlington neighborhood in Arlington, Virginia. Established in 1993, the society works to collect, preserve, and share the stories and artifacts of the area’s past with its residents and visitors.

The society’s mission is to promote an understanding of the history and cultural significance of Fairlington, which was originally built as a housing complex for defense workers during World War II. Today, Fairlington is a thriving community of over 6,000 residents, boasting a unique architectural style and a rich history.

The Fairlington Historical Society maintains an archive of photographs, documents, and artifacts related to the neighborhood’s development and history. The society also hosts educational events and lectures, walking tours, and other community activities to promote an appreciation of Fairlington’s history.

Membership in the Fairlington Historical Society is open to anyone interested in the history of the neighborhood, and the society welcomes donations of historical materials, as well as volunteers to help with its events and projects. Through its efforts, the society helps to preserve the unique character and heritage of Fairlington, ensuring that its history is not forgotten.
