Located at Darvills in Dinwiddie County, Virginia. This is an attractive cross gable frame vernacular house with metal roof, common in rural locations in my area. I'm guessing late 19th-early 20th century. The three-bay appearance is typical, as depicted in the row of three windows on the second level. The center front gable often has a vent, but one isn't visible here. The front porch extending across the front façade is basic (possibly an addition)--a shed roof supported with square wood columns on brick piers. The lack of symmetry of the façade is indicated by the positioning of the front entrance. This home has a large, shaded front yard and is at a more than normal distance from the road.
