VIETNAM UNIT MEMORIAL MONUMENT FUND

The Vietnam Unit Memorial Monument Fund in Coronado, California is a nonprofit organization dedicated to memorializing the service and sacrifices of the United States Marine Corps units who served in Vietnam. The organization was founded in 1997 by retired Marine Corps Colonel William J. “Bud” Farrell, who served in Vietnam in 1966 and 1967. The goal of the organization is to erect a memorial in Coronado to honor the members of the Marine Corps units who served in Vietnam.

The memorial will include a granite monument inscribed with the names of the units and the dates they served in Vietnam. It will also feature a life-size bronze of a Marine in full combat gear as well as a flagpole with a flag from each of the Marine Corps units that served in Vietnam.

The organization is currently fundraising for the construction of the memorial. So far, over $1 million has been raised towards the goal of $3.5 million. The organization is also working to locate and contact former Marines who served in Vietnam to ensure that all names are properly inscribed on the monument.

The Vietnam Unit Memorial Monument Fund is committed to honoring the service and sacrifices of the United States Marine Corps units who served in Vietnam and is an important part of the Coronado community.
