Gunston Hall Plantation is a historic estate located in Lorton, Virginia. It was built in the mid-18th century by George Mason IV, a prominent American statesman and Founding Father. The plantation is situated on the banks of the Potomac River and covers an area of over 5,000 acres.

The main house is a two-story brick building with a central hall and several large rooms on either side. It features elegant furniture, paintings, and decorative items from the 18th and 19th centuries. The grounds include a formal garden, a carriage house, and several outbuildings.

Gunston Hall Plantation played an important role in the history of the United States. George Mason IV was one of the authors of the Virginia Declaration of Rights, which served as a model for the United States Constitution's Bill of Rights. He was also a delegate to the Constitutional Convention and opposed the adoption of the Constitution without a Bill of Rights.

Today, Gunston Hall Plantation is open to the public as a museum and educational center. Visitors can tour the house and gardens, attend educational programs and events, and learn about the life and legacy of George Mason IV and the history of the plantation.
