The Santa Monica Conservancy is a non-profit organization in Santa Monica, CA dedicated to protecting and preserving the city’s historic places. Founded in 1987, the Conservancy is dedicated to preserving the city’s unique cultural and architectural heritage. The Conservancy works to educate the community about the importance of preserving these buildings and sites, as well as their vital role in the city’s history.

The Conservancy has worked on numerous projects throughout the city, such as restoring the historic Santa Monica Pier, the oldest amusement park in California, and the creation of the Santa Monica Conservancy Plaza, a public park located in the heart of downtown Santa Monica. The Conservancy also works with the city to protect and promote the local landmarks and sites in the city, such as the Civic Auditorium, the Santa Monica Civic Center and the Santa Monica Museum of Art.

The Conservancy also works to promote and support local events, such as the Santa Monica Heritage Festival, and the Santa Monica Heritage on the Move program. The Conservancy also sponsors a film series, the Santa Monica Film Festival, which showcases classic and independent films from around the world.

The Santa Monica Conservancy is a vital part of the city’s history and culture. Through their efforts, the Conservancy has been able to protect, preserve and promote the city’s historic places for generations to come.
