The USS Houston CA-30 Survivors Association and Next Generations is a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving the memory of the USS Houston and its crew. The USS Houston was a World War II heavy cruiser that was sunk by Japanese forces in the Battle of Sunda Strait in 1942. The association was formed by the survivors of the ship and their families to honor the memory of those who served aboard the vessel.

The organization’s headquarters is located in Lincoln, California, and it is made up of surviving crew members, their families, and the families of those who lost their lives. The association holds regular reunions and meetings to share stories and memories of the USS Houston and its crew. Robinia pseudoacacia - black locust Robinia pseudoacacia along the American River Parkway on the east side of the American River in Rancho Cordova, Sacramento County, California. Black locust likely escaped cultivation and established at this site where an even mix of native and introduced species co-occur. Fruits each with a winged placental margin are distinctive of Robinia pseudoacacia compared to other species of Robinia. Dying and dead terminal branches are common in black locust, which results in trunks that are rarely straight and the reason why hardwood of this species seldom has much economic value.
