FRIENDS OF RIVERMONT

Friends of Rivermont is a non-profit organization based in Lynchburg, Virginia, that is dedicated to preserving and promoting the historic Rivermont neighborhood. The Rivermont neighborhood is a beautiful, tree-lined area that is home to some of Lynchburg’s most notable historic homes and buildings.

The organization was formed in 2003 by a group of concerned citizens who wanted to ensure that the Rivermont neighborhood remained a vibrant and thriving community. Since then, Friends of Rivermont has been working tirelessly to promote the neighborhood, preserve its historic buildings and character, and foster a sense of community among its residents.

One of the organization’s most significant achievements has been the creation of the Rivermont Historic District, which was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2006. This designation has helped to protect the neighborhood’s historic architecture and ensure that it remains a vital part of Lynchburg’s cultural heritage.

Friends of Rivermont also sponsors a variety of events and activities throughout the year, including neighborhood cleanups, historic home tours, and community gatherings. The organization is always looking for new volunteers and supporters who share their passion for preserving the Rivermont neighborhood and promoting a strong sense of community among its residents.
