Belle Grove Plantation is a historic estate located in Middletown, Virginia. It was built in the late 1700s by Major Isaac Hite Jr. and his wife Nelly Madison Hite, sister of President James Madison. The house was designed in the Georgian style and features a spacious central hall, formal parlor and dining room, and six bedrooms. It also has several outbuildings, including a smokehouse, icehouse, and slave quarters.

During the Civil War, Belle Grove served as a Union headquarters and hospital. The property was later owned by the McCormick family, who made significant renovations to the house and grounds. Today, Belle Grove Plantation is open to the public for tours and events. Visitors can explore the house and learn about its history, as well as stroll through the beautifully landscaped gardens and grounds. The plantation also hosts special events throughout the year, including a holiday candlelight tour and a summer music festival.
