The Arab Historical Society (AHS) is a non-profit organisation based in Arab, Alabama. Founded in 1982, the AHS is dedicated to preserving the history, culture and heritage of the Arab community. It has grown to become one of the largest and most active historical societies in the state.

The AHS seeks to promote the appreciation of the rich historical and cultural heritage of Arab and the surrounding area. The Society works with individuals, families, businesses, organizations, and the local government to collect and preserve materials related to Arab’s history. The AHS also offers educational programs and activities such as presentations, lectures, and workshops to educate the public about the history of Arab and its surrounding area.

The AHS also collects and preserves artifacts and photographs that document the history of Arab and its surrounding area. The Society’s collections include documents, photographs, books, maps, postcards, and other artifacts that are related to the history of Arab. The collections are available to the public for research and educational purposes.

The AHS also offers various other services and programs. These include genealogy research services, a research library, and a walking tour of the historic sites of Arab. The AHS has also published several books about the history of Arab.

The AHS is actively involved in the local community by participating in community events and celebrations. The Society also serves as a resource for local schools, retirement homes, and other organizations.
