The Fort Douglas Military Museum is a free, educational museum located in Salt Lake City, Utah. Established in 1962, the museum is dedicated to preserving and interpreting the history of the United States military presence in the Intermountain West.
The museum consists of two main buildings that house a variety of artifacts and exhibits. The first is the original fort, built in 1862 and used as a military base until its decommissioning in 1991. The second building is the museum itself, containing over 5,000 artifacts, documents, photographs, and other materials related to the fort and the U.S. military presence in the area.
