The Mt Pleasant Historical Association was founded in 1999 in Mt Pleasant, Utah, as a nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving the history and culture of Mt Pleasant and the surrounding Sanpete Valley. The Association is composed of volunteers from the local community, who are passionate about preserving the unique heritage of the area.
The Association holds its annual meeting each year during the second week of August, and hosts a variety of events throughout the year to preserve the history and culture of Mt Pleasant. These events include guest speakers, educational seminars, and presentations on local history and culture. The Association also sponsors historical tours of Mt Pleasant and the surrounding area, including a tour of the historic Main Street and the nearby pioneer cemetery.
The Mt Pleasant Historical Association also runs a museum and library with artifacts and documents related to the history of Mt Pleasant and the Sanpete Valley. The museum is located in the historic Mt Pleasant Union Academy building, which was constructed in 1874. The library houses a variety of books, photographs, and other documents related to the history of Mt Pleasant, as well as a collection of maps and other material related to the Sanpete Valley.
The Mt Pleasant Historical Association is committed to preserving the history and culture of Mt Pleasant and the Sanpete Valley, and continues to serve as an important resource for the local community.
