Dive Bomber Douglas SBD Dauntless dive bomber The SBD was the U.S. Navy's front line dive bomber at the beginning of World War II. The Curtiss SB2C Helldiver superseded it later in the war, but it continued to serve until war's end. One of the few remaining SBDs in flying condition, this one belongs to the Lone Star Flight Museum in Houston, Texas.
