LEVI JORDAN PLANTATION

BRAZORIA, TX

The Levi Jordan Plantation is a historic site located in Brazoria, Texas, United States. The plantation was established in the mid-19th century and was owned by Levi Jordan, a wealthy planter and slave owner. The plantation was one of the largest sugar plantations in Brazoria County during its time.

The main house of the Levi Jordan Plantation is a two-story Greek Revival-style mansion that was built in the 1850s. The house is constructed out of cypress and features a central hall with four large rooms on either side. The mansion has been restored to its original condition with period furnishings and artwork.

The plantation also included a number of outbuildings, including a sugar mill, smokehouse, and slave quarters. The slave quarters have been restored and now serve as a museum that showcases the history of the plantation and the lives of the enslaved people who worked there.

In addition to the mansion and outbuildings, the plantation has several acres of grounds that include a formal garden, a pecan orchard, and a cemetery where Jordan and his family are buried.
