The Nasher Foundation 101796 in Forney, TX is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to preserving and promoting the legacy of its founder, Thomas N. Nasher. It is comprised of two distinct yet interrelated entities – the Thomas N. Nasher Foundation and the Nasher Sculpture Center.

The Thomas N. Nasher Foundation was founded in 1994 and is dedicated to promoting the legacy of its founder through a broad range of initiatives and activities that include the preservation of his personal art collection, the promotion of public education in the visual arts and sciences, and the advancement of philanthropic causes.

The Nasher Sculpture Center, established in 2003, is located at the same address as the Foundation and is dedicated to the preservation and enhancement of modern and contemporary sculpture from around the world. The Center features a variety of public and educational programs that provide visitors with a unique opportunity to experience and appreciate sculpture in a variety of contexts.

The Foundation and Center are committed to providing an accessible and welcoming environment for visitors of all ages and backgrounds. In addition to the public programs, the Foundation and Center also offer a variety of educational programs designed to foster an appreciation of modern and contemporary sculpture and to cultivate the next generation of visual arts enthusiasts. The Foundation and Center are also committed to supporting the local community through a variety of initiatives and activities.

Fair Park – Esplanade Reflecting Pool Pylon (Dallas, Texas) Great Pylon and fountain at the end of the Esplanade reflecting pool in Fair Park in Dallas, Texas. The obelisk was originally erected for the 1936 Texas Centennial Exposition but was later removed. It was rebuilt atop its originally base in 2009.

Fair Park has been the location of the State Fair of Texas since the 1880's. The park was reconstructed by local architect George Dahl in 1936 for the Texas Centennial Exposition and represents one of the largest surviving collection of Art Deco style structures in the United States.

Fair Park was designated as Texas State Antiquities Landmark in 1984. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places and designated as a National Historic Landmark in 1986 (NRHP District No. 86003488 as the Fair Park Texas Centennial Buildings (1936-1937)). Fair Park was also designated as a Dallas Landmark Historic District in 1987.

Fair Park – Centennial Building (Dallas, Texas) Historic 1936 Spain Statue in front of the Centennial Building at Fair Park in Dallas, Texas. The building was originally constructed as the Exposition Building (or Exhibition Building) in a Spanish Romanesque style in 1905. It was enlarged and remodeled in an Art Deco style in 1936 for the Texas Centennial Exposition and named the Transportation Building (or Hall of Transportation). An extension was called the Chrysler Building. Three porticos were added, providing places for statues and cement fresco murals. The building is now called the Centennial Building.

The Esplanade has six statues of women (Six Ladies of Fair Park) along the Esplanade representing the six flags of Texas. The three statues in front of the Centennial Building represent Spain, the Confederacy and Texas. The three in front of the Automobile Building represent France, Mexico and United States.

The eclectic-style Automobile Building was constructed 1947-48 to replace the Texas Centennial Exposition’s Electrical, Communications and Varied Industries exhibit buildings that had burned in 1942. Porticos were added in 1985 to match those across the pool on the XXX building. In 1999, the Art Deco murals representing electric, mining, and inventing industries were restored.
