The Texas Gulf Historical Society (TGHS) is a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving the history and culture of the Texas Gulf Coast region. Founded in Beaumont, Texas in 1972, the TGHS has served as a source of education, information and research for the region. The organization promotes the study of the Texas Gulf Coast region’s past and encourages the preservation of its cultural and natural resources.

The TGHS has a variety of research materials available to the public, including historical maps, photographs, oral histories, and other documents. The organization also hosts a variety of events, such as lectures, tours, and seminars, to educate the public about the history of the Gulf Coast region. Additionally, the TGHS has an extensive library and archive of local and regional materials, including books, periodicals, photographs, and other documents.

The TGHS is committed to preserving the history and culture of the Texas Gulf Coast region. Through its research materials and events, the organization seeks to educate the public and inspire the preservation of the region’s cultural and natural resources. The TGHS seeks to ensure that the history of the Gulf Coast region is remembered and cherished for generations to come.
