Texas Southern University (TSU) is a public historically black university located in Houston, Texas. Founded in 1927, TSU is one of the largest and most comprehensive HBCUs in the United States. The university serves a diverse student body of approximately 9,700 undergraduate and graduate students.

TSU offers a wide range of undergraduate and graduate programs across 10 colleges and schools, including business, education, law, pharmacy, social work, and more. The university also has a strong research focus, with centers and institutes dedicated to fields such as environmental justice, urban education, and public policy.

The campus is situated on 150 acres in the heart of Houston's Third Ward, a historically African American neighborhood. TSU is known for its vibrant campus life, with over 100 student organizations and clubs, as well as numerous cultural and social events throughout the year.

TSU has a rich athletic tradition, with its football team competing in the Southwestern Athletic Conference. The university also has successful basketball, track and field, and volleyball programs.
