The Historic Capitol Theatre Restoration Project in Brownsville, TX was initiated in 2005 by the Brownsville Community Improvement Corporation with the goal of restoring the historic Capitol Theatre to its original grandeur. The theatre, originally built in 1929, was a beloved local landmark and a cornerstone of the community.
