The Institute of Nautical Archaeology Foundation (INAF) is a non-profit organization based in College Station, Texas. Founded in 1979, INAF is dedicated to the study, preservation and protection of the world’s submerged cultural heritage. The organization works to raise public awareness of this unique and important aspect of our cultural heritage, facilitate research projects, and serve as an educational resource for students and the public.

INAF has a wide range of activities, including research, conservation, excavation, and educational programs. Their research projects focus on archaeological sites in the Mediterranean, the Caribbean, and the Middle East. Through their conservation efforts, they work to protect and preserve underwater sites. In addition, they excavate, document, and analyze archaeological sites in order to gain a better understanding of the past.

INAF also offers educational programs and workshops for students, as well as public lectures and events. These programs provide an opportunity for students to learn about the field of nautical archaeology and to gain hands-on experience in the field. The organization also has a website which provides information about their research and activities, and a library which houses books and other materials related to the field.

INAF is an important part of the College Station community and is dedicated to protecting and preserving the world’s submerged cultural heritage. Through their research, conservation, and educational programs, they are able to spread awareness and understanding of this unique aspect of our collective cultural heritage.
