The Historic Old Town Auburn Business Association (HOTAB) is a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving and promoting the historic downtown area of Auburn, California. Founded in 1979, the organization is made up of local businesses, property owners, and civic leaders. HOTAB works to promote a vibrant and healthy downtown core by providing resources and support to local businesses, planning events to attract visitors, and advocating for historic preservation and quality development.

HOTAB offers a variety of services to its members, including business and marketing resources, networking opportunities, and training and education programs. The organization also organizes a number of events throughout the year, such as the annual Christmas in Old Town Auburn parade, the Fourth of July celebration, and the Harvest Festival. Thirty-One Years Later I took a picture of Naomi in this spot (within a meter or two) in 1993 so yesterday when the chance arose, I took another picture of her in the same spot, thirty-one years later.

This is a replica of Sutter's sawmill where gold was discovered in 1848 in Coloma.

Tower Theatre sign, Roseville, CA This baby blue beauty <a href="https://www.newspapers.com/article/the-sacramento-bee-tower-theatre-opens-i/153743471/" rel="noreferrer nofollow">opened in 1940</a> and was <a href="https://cinematreasures.org/theaters/1119" rel="noreferrer nofollow">restored around 2002</a>. Looks like they need to repair some of the neon, but it’s otherwise in lovely shape.

Union Pacific Business Car Fleet The freight cars hauled by the Big Boy on its western travel were swapped for some of the Union Pacific business car fleet. These cars were used for a sold-out passenger trip from Roseville to Sparks the following day. The Big Boy needs to have cars behind it (either freight or passenger) for braking purposes.
