Old Spanish Missions in San Antonio, Texas are a series of five religious outposts that were established by Spanish Catholic missionaries during the 18th century. The missions were built to spread Christianity among the indigenous people and to establish a Spanish presence in the region.

The five missions are Mission San Antonio de Valero (also known as the Alamo), Mission San José, Mission Concepción, Mission San Juan Capistrano, and Mission Espada. Each mission is located along the San Antonio River and has its own unique architectural style and historical significance.

Mission San Antonio de Valero is the most well-known mission and is famous for the 1836 battle that took place there during the Texas Revolution. Mission San José is the largest and most complete mission, with a stunning church and well-preserved grounds. Mission Concepción is the oldest unrestored stone church in America, while Mission San Juan Capistrano and Mission Espada are smaller and less visited.

In 2015, the Old Spanish Missions in San Antonio were designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site, recognizing their cultural and historical significance. Today, visitors can explore the missions, attend mass in the beautiful churches, and learn about the history of Spanish colonization and the role of the missions in shaping the region's culture.
