The Benbrook Historical Society of Benbrook, Texas collects and preserves artifacts and information about the history of Benbrook and the surrounding area. Established in 2011, the Society is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to educating the public about the rich history and culture of Benbrook and its surrounding communities.
The Society seeks to preserve the memory and artifacts of the many generations of people who have lived in Benbrook and the surrounding area. Through its publications and programs, the Society seeks to educate its members and the public about the history of Benbrook and its surrounding area.
The Society is housed in the historic Benbrook Depot, which was built in 1888. The depot is the oldest remaining building in Benbrook and is a reminder of the rich history of the community. The historical society also has a museum located in the depot that is open to the public and features a variety of artifacts, documents, photographs, and other items of historical interest.
The Benbrook Historical Society is also active in the local community and participates in a variety of events. The Society hosts an annual Heritage Day festival that celebrates the history of Benbrook and the surrounding area. The festival includes live music, food, crafts, and other activities for all ages. The Society also holds educational programs and lectures throughout the year and offers a variety of membership levels.
