The Chico Air Museum is a non-profit aviation museum located in the historic Chico Municipal Airport in Chico, California. It is the only aviation museum in Northern California outside of the San Francisco Bay area. The museum was founded in 1988 with the goal of preserving the history of aviation and educating the public about aviation related topics. The museum houses a large collection of aircraft, warbirds, historical military artifacts, and aviation memorabilia.

The museum’s collection includes more than 50 aircraft, ranging from World War I biplanes to modern jets. Visitors can get up close and personal with the aircraft on display and even climb into some of the cockpits. The museum also offers a variety of educational and interactive exhibits, including hands-on activities and flight simulators.

In addition to aircraft, the museum also has a vast collection of historical military artifacts, including uniforms, medals, and other memorabilia. Guests can also explore the museum’s library, which contains a variety of books, magazines, and other materials related to aviation.

The Chico Air Museum also offers guided tours and special events throughout the year. The museum is open to the public seven days a week, with the exception of major holidays. Admission is free, though donations are welcome and help to support the museum’s ongoing efforts to preserve and educate about aviation history.
