The Gorge Preservation Society is a non-profit organization based in Canyon Lake, Texas that is committed to preserving the unique beauty and ecological diversity of the Canyon Lake Gorge. The Gorge is a geological wonder, carved out by the catastrophic floods of 2002 that exposed 110 million-year-old dinosaur tracks, ancient marine fossils, and layers of colorful rock formations.

The Society was formed in response to the massive development boom that threatened to destroy the Gorge and its fragile ecosystem. Their mission is to educate the public about the geological and ecological importance of the Gorge, as well as to advocate for its conservation and protection.

The Society offers guided tours of the Gorge that provide visitors with a rich educational experience, including hands-on exploration of the fossils and rocks, and discussions about the natural history and geology of the area. They also offer educational programs for schools and community groups, as well as volunteer opportunities for those interested in helping to preserve the Gorge.

Through their efforts, the Gorge Preservation Society has become a leading voice in environmental conservation in Texas. Their work has helped to ensure that this unique and beautiful landscape will be protected for generations to come.
