Smith County Courthouse (Tyler, Texas) Historic 1955 Smith County Courthouse in Tyler, Texas.  The mid-century Modern style building consists of a large six-story central block flanked by two-story blocks.  The courthouse was listed on the 
National Register of Historic Places in 2002 as a contributing resource to the Tyler Downtown Historic District (NRHP No. 100008283).

Texas Freedom Tribute in Tyler, TX is a memorial dedicated to honoring the sacrifices of the men and women who served in the United States Armed Forces. It is located on the grounds of the University of Texas at Tyler and is accessible to the public. The memorial consists of a central sculpture depicting a soldier in full gear, surrounded by a series of columns, each of which bears a plaque dedicated to a specific military service or conflict. The plaques honor the service of those who fought in World War II, Korea, Vietnam, Iraq and Afghanistan and recognize the service of veterans of all branches of the military.

The memorial also includes a series of flag poles which display the American flag, the Texas flag, and flags representing each of the five branches of the United States Armed Forces. The Memorial was dedicated in May of 2016 and pays tribute to the courage, dedication and sacrifice of those who served in the United States Armed Forces. It serves as a reminder of the importance of honoring the service of our veterans and of the freedoms we enjoy as citizens of the United States.
