1859 Ashton Villa is a historic mansion located in Galveston, Texas. The building was constructed in the Italianate style and was designed by the prominent architect, Albert B. Nichols. The mansion was built for James Moreau Brown, a prominent businessman, and his family.

The three-story building is made of brick and covered with stucco. The mansion features a spacious veranda with ornate ironwork, Corinthian columns, and a balcony on the second floor. The interior of the villa is adorned with elegant features such as marble fireplaces, plaster moldings, and stained glass windows.

The mansion remained in the Brown family until 1922 when it was sold to a group of businessmen who intended to turn it into a club. However, the building suffered significant damage during the 1900 Galveston hurricane, and it was left abandoned for years.

The mansion was later restored in the 1960s and opened to the public as a museum. Today, it is one of the most popular tourist attractions in Galveston, offering visitors a glimpse into the lifestyle of the wealthy in the 19th century. The mansion is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and is considered a significant landmark in Galveston's history.
