SOUTHERN HERITAGE FOUNDATION INC

The Southern Heritage Foundation Inc. (SHF) is a non-profit, non-partisan organization based in Memphis, Tennessee. The organization was founded in 1967 to provide assistance for the people of the south, including those of African American descent, who have been adversely affected by the civil rights movement.

The mission of the SHF is to “promote and preserve the unique cultural and historical legacies of the Southern United States, while advancing the economic and social progress of its citizens.” The organization works to preserve the southern heritage through education and community outreach.

The SHF's programs and services include a variety of initiatives that focus on research, education, and community action. In addition to its research and education efforts, the SHF sponsors annual events and programs to bring together members of the southern community. The SHF also works with the Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development to develop and implement strategies to promote economic development in the region.
