The Blount County Genealogical & Historical Society (BCGHS) is a non-profit organization located in Maryville, Tennessee. Founded in 1975, BCGHS is dedicated to the study, preservation, and promotion of the history and genealogy of Blount County. The Society collects, preserves, and makes available for research materials which document the history of Blount County and its people.

BCGHS's primary focus is to promote and foster an interest in genealogy and local history. The Society provides access to genealogical resources, such as family histories, census records, newspaper clippings, maps, photographs, and other historical documents. In addition, BCGHS offers educational programs, lectures, and seminars to the community on topics related to the county’s rich history.

The Society is also actively engaged in various projects to help preserve the history of Blount County. These projects include the preservation of the Maryville City Cemetery, the publication of an annual Blount County History Magazine, and the creation of a historical database of local information.

BCGHS is a member of the East Tennessee Historical Society, the Tennessee Genealogical Society, and the National Genealogical Society. Membership in the organization is open to anyone interested in genealogy and local history. The Society meets the second Tuesday of every month at the Blount County Public Library in Maryville.
