The Pickett County Historical and Genealogical Society is a non-profit organization located in Byrdstown, Tennessee. Established in 1986, the Society works to preserve and promote the history and genealogy of Pickett County. The organization’s mission is to serve as an educational resource, to provide research services to the public, and to promote and support the preservation of Pickett County’s cultural and historical resources.

The Society’s activities include collecting and preserving records, objects, photographs and other artifacts related to the history of Pickett County. They also provide research services to members and the public and host an annual meeting and other events. They operate a small museum, where visitors can view artifacts and photographs illustrating the county’s history. The Society also offers publications, including a newsletter and a quarterly journal.

The Society’s members are composed of individuals from all walks of life and from a variety of backgrounds. They are actively involved in the preservation of their county’s history and genealogy, and enjoy the fellowship and camaraderie of other members.
