The Matt Gardner Homestead Museum, located in Prospect, Tennessee, is a historic site that offers visitors an opportunity to experience life in rural America during the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The museum is situated on the original homestead of Matt Gardner, a former slave who became a successful farmer and businessman. The property includes several original buildings, including Gardner's home, a blacksmith shop, a smokehouse, and a chicken coop.

The museum offers guided tours of the property, which provide visitors with a glimpse into the daily life of a rural family during the early 1900s. The tour includes a visit to the main house, which has been restored to its original condition and features period furnishings and artifacts. Visitors can also see the blacksmith shop, where Gardner and his sons crafted tools and equipment for the farm, as well as the smokehouse, where meat was cured and preserved.
