The Lotz House Museum in Franklin, Tennessee is a National Historic Landmark that offers a unique look into the history of the Civil War. Located at 1111 Columbia Avenue, the museum is a two-story house that was built in 1858 for the family of Johann Albert Lotz. During the Battle of Franklin in 1864, the house was used as a field hospital for the Confederate wounded and later served as a headquarters for Union General Jacob Cox.

The museum offers a variety of exhibits that illustrate the Lotz family’s story and the events of the Civil War. Visitors can view artifacts from the battle, such as bullets and uniforms, as well as personal items from the Lotz family. The museum also includes a restored kitchen, a parlor, and a bedroom.

In addition to the permanent exhibits, the museum hosts special events throughout the year, including reenactments and lectures. The museum also offers educational programs for students, including a two-hour guided tour and a one-hour self-guided tour.

The museum is open Tuesday through Saturday from 10am to 4pm, and on Sunday from 1pm to 4pm. Admission is free, though donations are encouraged. The museum is a great destination for those interested in learning more about the history of the Civil War and the Lotz family.
