The Museum of Appalachia in Clinton, Tennessee is a living history museum that preserves and celebrates the culture of the Appalachian people. Located on 65 acres of rolling hills, the museum features more than 30 original log structures, including a working grist mill, an old-timey church, and a one-room schoolhouse.

The museum was founded in 1969 by John Rice Irwin and his daughter, Elaine Irwin Meyer. They wanted to preserve the heritage of the Appalachian people and their stories. Over the years, the museum has acquired and restored over 300,000 artifacts from the Appalachian region, ranging from everyday objects to rare artifacts.
