CRAGFONT MUSEUM HOUSE

Cragfont Museum House is a historic plantation house located in Gallatin, Tennessee. It was built in 1798 by James Winchester, a Revolutionary War veteran and prominent politician. The house is situated on a hill overlooking the city and was the center of a 2,000-acre plantation.

The Federal-style mansion is a two-story brick structure with a hipped roof and a central entrance portico supported by four Ionic columns. The interior features beautiful woodwork, intricate plasterwork, and period furnishings. The house was restored in the 1960s and is now a museum open to the public.
