Mammoth Site in Hot Springs, South Dakota is an archaeological site that was discovered in 1974 when the construction of a housing complex was beginning. It is one of the most important fossil sites in the world, preserving the remains of more than 60 Columbian mammoths, as well as numerous other species of Pleistocene animals.

The Mammoth Site is now a museum and scientific research center. It was designated a National Natural Landmark in 1980, and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

The museum displays the fossils of the Columbian mammoths, as well as other extinct species. The site also contains a large variety of bones, hair and tusks, as well as other materials that provide evidence of the animals' living conditions.

In addition to the fossilized remains, the museum also contains educational displays, interactive exhibits and a research library. Visitors can take guided tours of the site, and educational programs are available for school groups.

The museum also has a gift shop and a café. The museum is open year-round, and admission fees apply.
