The Citadel is a military college located in Charleston, South Carolina. Founded in 1842, it is one of six senior military colleges in the United States and has a long history of producing distinguished military leaders. The campus covers 300 acres and includes a parade ground, barracks, classrooms, and athletic facilities.

The Citadel is known for its rigorous academic program and its emphasis on discipline and leadership training. All cadets are required to participate in a Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC) program and are expected to uphold a strict code of conduct. The college offers undergraduate degrees in a variety of fields, including engineering, business, and humanities.

The Citadel is also home to several notable landmarks, including Summerall Chapel, which is named after the college's fourth president and features stained glass windows and a massive pipe organ. The college's campus is also home to the Citadel Museum, which features exhibits on the history of the school and the military, as well as a collection of artifacts and memorabilia.

Today, The Citadel is recognized as one of the top military colleges in the country and has produced numerous distinguished alumni, including General William Westmoreland, who commanded U.S. forces during the Vietnam War, and Admiral Mike Mullen, former Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.
