The South Carolina Orchid Society (SCOS) is a non-profit organization that was established in 2001 and is based in Clarks Hill, South Carolina. The organization promotes education and appreciation of orchid culture and conservation. The SCOS offers many services to its members, including monthly meetings, workshops, educational programs, and a newsletter.

The SCOS has a membership of over 200 people from around the state who share a common love of orchids. Members are encouraged to attend monthly meetings, which are held on the fourth Monday of each month at 7:00 pm. During these meetings, members can learn about orchid culture, conservation, and care from experts in the field. Additionally, the SCOS hosts an annual orchid show each year at the end of March, which includes a judged show, educational presentations, and a display of orchid plants.

The SCOS also provides resources and support to members, including advice on orchid care and culture, as well as orchid supplies and educational materials. The organization also offers a variety of activities such as field trips, workshops, and lectures.

The SCOS is dedicated to preserving and promoting orchid culture in South Carolina. Through its educational programs, workshops, and events, the SCOS aims to create a strong network of orchid enthusiasts and promote orchid conservation.
