The Ronald E. McNair Memorial Foundation in Lake City, South Carolina is a non-profit organization providing educational and recreational opportunities to students in the Lake City community. The foundation was founded in 1999 in honor of Ronald E. McNair, the second African American astronaut and first African American to fly in space, who tragically lost his life in the Challenger disaster.

The foundation's mission is to promote the legacy of Ronald McNair and to inspire the youth of Lake City to pursue higher education and career goals. The foundation offers a variety of programs and services to the community, including after-school and summer enrichment programs, college prep classes and workshops, and activities such as field trips and community service.

The foundation also offers a scholarship program for high school seniors in the Lake City area. The Ronald E. McNair Scholarship is awarded to one student each year, and is designed to support a student's academic goals and provide financial assistance for college tuition.
