The Ebbetts Pass Historical Association Inc. (EPHA) is a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving the history and cultural heritage of Bear Valley, California. Founded in 1961, EPHA is committed to preserving and interpreting the unique history of Bear Valley and the Sierra Nevada Mountains. EPHA works to protect and share the history and culture of the region through educational programs, publications, exhibits, and other activities.

EPHA is based at the Old Logging Museum in Bear Valley, which is where much of the organization’s work takes place. The museum houses a wide variety of artifacts and displays related to the history of Bear Valley, including items from the logging industry, early settlers, and Native American cultures. Additionally, EPHA hosts a number of events throughout the year, including a fall festival, a summer solstice dinner, and a winter solstice celebration.

EPHA is also involved in a number of ongoing projects, including historic preservation and archaeological research. The organization assists with the preservation of historic buildings and sites, and conducts archaeological surveys of the area. Additionally, EPHA participates in the California Historical Landmark Program, which recognizes and preserves important historical sites in California.

EPHA’s mission is to promote public awareness and understanding of the history and culture of Bear Valley and the Sierra Nevada Mountains. The organization works hard to protect the area’s unique and diverse cultural heritage, and to share it with the community and beyond.
