The Quonochontaug Historical Society (QHS) is a non-profit organization located in Charlestown, Rhode Island. Founded in 1989, the QHS works to preserve and celebrate the unique history of the Quonochontaug peninsula. Through the QHS, members of the Charlestown community are able to access educational resources, participate in events, and support the preservation of the area’s rich culture and heritage.

The society’s mission is to preserve the Quonochontaug community’s history through research, public education, and the sharing of stories. They provide a variety of educational programs, including lectures and workshops, as well as field trips, archaeological excavations, and other activities. QHS is committed to the preservation of the area’s natural resources, and has launched several successful programs that promote sustainability and conservation.

The society also works to preserve the historic buildings and sites of the Quonochontaug peninsula. In addition to preserving the historical structures, QHS also provides tours and events that celebrate the area’s unique culture and heritage.
