It was formed in 1774 during the Revolutionary War and has continued to serve as a ceremonial unit for over 200 years. The unit consists of approximately 60 members who dress in colonial-style uniforms, carrying muskets and other period weapons.
The Bristol Train of Artillery is known for its participation in the Bristol Fourth of July Parade, which is the oldest continuous Fourth of July celebration in the United States. The unit leads the parade, firing muskets and cannon as they march down the streets of Bristol.
