The Lykens & Wiconisco Historical Society was founded in Lykens, Pennsylvania in 1979 with the mission of preserving and protecting the history and heritage of the local area. The Society is comprised of volunteers dedicated to preserving the history of Lykens, Wiconisco, and surrounding areas of Dauphin County, PA. The Society also works to encourage interest in the area’s past, present, and future through its exhibits, events, and educational programs.

The Society operates a museum in Lykens that features exhibits on the region’s history, including the Lykens Valley Railroad, the Civil War, and local industries. The museum also contains a library of books, photographs, documents, and other items related to the history of the area. In addition to the museum, the Society also hosts a variety of events throughout the year, including lectures, tours, and workshops, as well as special events like their annual Lykens Valley Railroad Day.

The Society is also involved in many educational activities, such as providing tours to schoolchildren and hosting a number of summer camps for children. These programs are designed to provide an interactive and engaging way to learn about local history.
