ROCK FORD PLANTATION
LANCASTER, PA
Rock Ford Plantation is a historic estate located in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. The estate covers an area of 33 acres and has a rich history dating back to the 18th century. It was built in 1794 by Edward Hand, an Irish immigrant, and a revolutionary war general who served as George Washington's adjutant general during the war. Visitors can explore the mansion's interior, which is decorated with authentic period furniture, paintings, and other artifacts that give a glimpse into the lives of the people who lived there.
The estate also features a number of outbuildings, including a smokehouse, a carriage house, a springhouse, and a barn. These buildings have been restored to their original condition and provide visitors with an opportunity to experience what life was like on a working plantation.
