Solar Eclipse 2017 - Beginning to End I really had doubts that this one was going to work out! The forecast was calling for a 60% chance of thunderstorms in Lancaster, PA. I had some trouble with thick clouds in the beginning but in the end - it all worked out. Each photo was made with a Canon 70D and a Canon 17-40 mm f/4L lens @ 36 mm. Rocky Springs Carousel Association is a nonprofit organization located in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. The association was established in 1990 with the aim of preserving and restoring the historic Rocky Springs Park carousel.

The carousel was built in 1908 by the renowned Dentzel Carousel Company and was originally located in Rocky Springs Park, which operated from 1890 to 1958. After the park closed, the carousel was sold and moved to various locations until it was eventually purchased by the association in 1990.

Since then, the association has worked tirelessly to restore the carousel to its original beauty and keep it in working condition. The carousel features 48 hand-carved wooden animals, including horses, rabbits, and lions, as well as two chariots.

In addition to maintaining the carousel, the association also operates a gift shop and organizes events throughout the year, including holiday-themed rides and special events for children.

The Rocky Springs Carousel Association is committed to preserving this important piece of Lancaster's history and ensuring that future generations can enjoy the magic of riding on a classic carousel.

A bright meteor along with the full &quot;flower&quot; moon are seen illuminating the Lancaster, PA countryside. The image was made of 415 twenty second exposures (about 2.5 hours). Each image was taken with a Canon T2i (f/5.0 with a Sigma 10-20 mm lens @ 14 mm / ISO 400) and stacked using StarStax. This must have been some meteor! I unfortunately must have been looking away but at least it was captured in the image.

The Fog Bank across the Stream A fog bank is seen engulfing a flowing stream in Lancaster, PA. Two stop (-2, 0, +2) HDR processing was done using Photomatix and light processing in Photoshop Elements. I originally wanted to photograph the thin crescent moon and Venus pairing; however, the clouds and fog had other plans! Despite missing the moon, I really like the way the photo turned out. Venus can be seen to the left of the tree in the middle of the photograph.
