The African American Genealogy Group of Philadelphia (AAGGP) is a non-profit organization dedicated to researching, preserving and sharing African American genealogy and history. Established in 2007, AAGGP is committed to supporting African American genealogists in their quest for family history. The group works to strengthen the African American genealogical community through education, networking, and outreach.

AAGGP meets regularly, typically on the third Saturday of the month, at the African American Museum in Philadelphia. During meetings, members share their research, discuss resources, and learn skills. The group also hosts workshops, lectures, and other events. AAGGP offers a variety of resources, such as a library of genealogy books and access to online databases. In addition, the group provides assistance in researching family trees, interpreting documents, and connecting with other genealogists.

AAGGP strives to increase awareness of African American genealogy and history by making connections with schools, libraries, and other organizations. The group also works to ensure that African American genealogy is available to all and is preserved for future generations. Through its commitment to education and outreach, AAGGP seeks to promote African American genealogy and history in Philadelphia and beyond.
