Taller Puertorriqueño is a multidisciplinary arts organization located in the heart of Philadelphia’s historic Kensington community. Founded in 1974, Taller has been a cornerstone of the Latino/a arts movement in Philadelphia for over four decades. Through a variety of programs and initiatives, Taller works to preserve and promote traditional Puerto Rican and Latino/a arts, culture, and identity within Philadelphia’s diverse communities.

The organization serves as a hub for Puerto Rican and Latino/a artists, offering a variety of artist-in-residency programs, classes, workshops, exhibitions, and performances. The organization also engages in community activism, advocating for the rights of Puerto Rican and Latino/a communities and organizing cultural festivals and events throughout Philadelphia.

Taller’s current building, located on the corner of 5th and Huntingdon Streets in Kensington, was constructed in 1979. The building not only serves as a space for cultural programming, but also houses a museum and a gift shop. The museum is home to a permanent collection of Puerto Rican and Latino/a art, while the gift shop features a variety of traditional Puerto Rican crafts and goods.
