BAHR MILL PRESERVATION SOCIETY

The BAHR MILL PRESERVATION SOCIETY is a nonprofit organization located in Boyertown, Pennsylvania. Founded in 1991, the Society is dedicated to preserving the history of the historic Bahr Mill and its associated farms, outbuildings, and structures. The Society owns and maintains the complex, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

The complex includes three main structures: the main mill building, a grist mill, and a stone walled barn. The main mill building is a three-story, brick structure built in 1864. The grist mill was built in 1879 and is the only surviving example of a large, brick-and-stone grist mill in Berks County. The stone walled barn was built in the early 1800s and is now used as a meeting space, museum, and community center.

The Society hosts various educational programs and events throughout the year, including guided tours of the mill, workshops, and lectures. It is also involved in the local community, partnering with organizations such as the Boyertown Historic Preservation Trust and the Friends of Berks County Parks.

The Society is committed to preserving the Bahr Mill and its associated structures for future generations. They strive to educate the public about the importance of preserving historic landmarks and to promote the appreciation of local history and culture.
