The Yaquina Art Association (YAA) is a non-profit organization located in Newport, Oregon which was founded in 1949 to promote the appreciation of art in the local community. The YAA is dedicated to providing a platform for local artists to show their work and to encourage local and regional art enthusiasts to take part in the artistic process. The YAA offers a variety of programs and activities to engage the community, including monthly art exhibitions, art classes and workshops, art fairs and more.

YAA houses a gallery that features rotating exhibitions of artwork from local, regional and international artists. The gallery also houses a permanent collection of artworks from the area which can be viewed by members and visitors. The YAA also offers a variety of workshops and classes for adults and children, and hosts several art fairs throughout the year.

The YAA is also active in the community by providing outreach programs to local schools and organizations. As part of their mission to promote the arts, YAA also hosts events such as art walks, open studio days and other activities that aim to give back to the community.

The YAA is run by a board of directors and supported by members, donors, and volunteers. All proceeds from YAA activities and donations go directly to support the organization’s mission and programs.

Newport, Oregon Yaquina Bay Lighthouse from South Jetty

Yaquina Bay Lighthouse was only in operation for three years, from 1871 until 1874. It was replaced by Yaquina Head Lighthouse a few miles to the north, which was much easier for ships to see. Today it is part of Yaquina Bay State Park and has been restored to it's 1870's appearance.

Newport, Oregon The beautiful and graceful Yaquina Bay Bridge was constructed by the Works Progress Administration (WPA), and was completed in 1936. It is located along the central Oregon Coast in Newport, Oregon.
