Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU) is an academic health center located in Portland, Oregon. It is the only public health and research university in the state and the largest health provider in the region. OHSU was founded in 1887 as the University of Oregon Medical School, and has since grown to include six schools: School of Medicine, School of Nursing, School of Dentistry, School of Pharmacy, School of Science and Engineering, and School of Public Health and Preventive Medicine.

OHSU has an annual operating budget of $2.6 billion and more than 12,000 employees. It is a leader in research, education, and healthcare with a total of 5,000 students enrolled in its various programs. Its research activities are focused on areas such as cancer, genetics, neuroscience, diabetes, heart disease, and health policy.

OHSU is affiliated with several hospitals, including the Doernbecher Children's Hospital, the Oregon National Primate Research Center, the Casey Eye Institute, and the Portland VA Medical Center. It is also home to the Knight Cancer Institute, the only cancer institute in the state. In addition, OHSU has a number of outreach programs, including the OHSU Health for All program, which provides health care and other services to underserved populations in the state.
