There is bus service between Portland and Hood River. I took it back to avoid riding into the headwind of the gorge that usually blows out of the west.
That bus can carry quite a few bikes if need be.
A Pietro's Pizza. I used to be a janitor at a Pietro's in Bellingham back in the 1980s. My first permanent job after college was being a janitor / dishwasher at a Pizza Haven. Toward the end of that 11 year stint, the Pizza Haven was bought out by Pietro's before I started working at other places. Pietro's went under in Bellingham. At Hood River, they said a new outfit bought what's left of the chain. There are 4 left. Interesting to revisit memories from my past.
